God gave Solomon wisdom-keen insight and a mind as limitless as the sand on the seashore.
So that in the coming ages he might display the limitless riches of his grace that comes to us through his kindness in the Messiah Jesus.
Cush and Egypt had limitless strength; Put and the Libyans were among her allies.
Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart (MIND) so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.
“It is He who changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and establishes kings. He gives wisdom to the wise And [greater] knowledge to those who have understanding!
Which in other generations was not disclosed to mankind, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets by the [Holy] Spirit;
Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost [of sinners], Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example or pattern for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.
But when the goodness and kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared [in human form as the Man, Jesus Christ],
And at the appointed time has made known His word and revealed it as His message, through preaching, which was entrusted to me according to the command of God our Savior—
Now to Him who is able to establish and strengthen you [in the faith] according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery [of the plan of salvation] which has been kept secret for long ages past,
My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
Some of those who stood there, when they heard that, said, “This Man is calling for Elijah!”
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
“Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his multitude: ‘Whom are you like in your greatness?
Egypt will be the lowliest of kingdoms and will never again exalt itself above the nations. For I will diminish Egypt so that it will never again rule over the nations.
This is what the Lord GOD says: I will put an end to the hordes of Egypt by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north;
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
“But [in fact] you will be brought down to Sheol, To the remote recesses of the pit (the region of the dead).
Abraham called out to El Olam-the Everlasting God as he planted a tamerisk tree in Beersheba. He was calling out to God in worship of the One who is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.
Here is another verse that describes this everlasting characteristic of God:
“There is no one like the God of Israel.
He rides across the heavens to help you,
across the skies in majestic splendor.
27 The eternal God is your refuge,
and his everlasting arms are under you.
He drives out the enemy before you;
he cries out, ‘Destroy them!’ Deuteronomy 33:26-27.
God as El Olam and it will greatly encourage you!
You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
4 Trust in the Lord always,
for the Lord God is the eternal Rock. Isaiah 26:3-4.
El Olam in Hebrew:
Olam is a Hebrew word that occurs more than four hundread times in the Hebrew scriptures. It is translated as “eternal,” “everlasting,” “forever,” “lasting,” “ever,” or “ancient”. It refers to the fullness of the experience of time or space. The name El Olam (El o-HAM) meaning “Eternal God” or “Everlasting God,” appears only four times. The word is applied to God and His laws, promises, covenant and kingdom.
