Then thine handmaid said,
The word of my lord the king shall now be comfortable:
for as an angel of God,
so is my lord the king to discern good and bad:
therefore the LORD thy God will be with thee.
“For the king will hear, to deliver his handmaid out of the hand of the man that would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.”
Who set wisdom in a hiding place?
Who gave vision to discernment?
With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.
Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
“As for me, this is my covenant with them,”
saith the LORD;
“My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.”
Wherefore he saith,
“Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.”
For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
And he said,
It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?
